How to increase your productivity and resist distractions ? Get Best Guidance for UPSC | Ghaziabad IAS Academy | 9899781744

Clearing UPSC exams is a task considered equivalent to scaling the Mt. Everest. The number of applicants reaches in lakhs whereas the vacancies barely touch the thousand mark. Aspirants sacrifice their day and night to prepare for these exams. The preparation time period for prelims is one of the most crucial and challenging phases for the aspirant. Some people start preparing for the exam from the beginning of their college and many usually devote a full year for preparation after their college to cover up the humongous syllabus.

Numerous distractions regarding financial, social and personal issues often come in the way of preparation especially when it is over a significant period of time. These distractions end up clogging the strategic path for preparation which often results in giving up, stress, failure, hypertension, and depression. Aspirants for civil servant jobs often face peer pressure from the family and surroundings. The key is to develop resilience from these distractions and develop a strategy which ensures high yield performance. To develop such resilience following tips can help in eradicating the distractions from your path:

  • Prioritizing the tasks on daily basis will help in forming smaller practical objectives to be accomplished every day.
  • Time management to avoid wastage of time and energy completing the unnecessary tasks and rather have a more systematic approach in managing daily tasks in life.
  • Elimination or reduction of time killers such as social media (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and more).
  • Avoiding unnecessary hindrance of relationship issues with close friends, partners, family, and others. It is advisable to have a stronger relationship with your primary objective.
  • Self-Introspection, meditation, and exercise help to cleanse your aura to remove any distress by properly channeling the thoughts and the emotions. Analysis of the performance will help in understanding the strength and weaknesses as per the developed strategy.
  • Necessary intermediate breaks between studying and proper sleep of 8 hours every night help to keep brain refreshed and increases memory retention. Taking small breaks for 10-15 minutes after every hour of studying helps the brain to store the data prominently rather than overloading it and consequently, facing early fatigue.
